about us.
Situated between Gloucester Road and Stokes Croft, The Cloak and Dagger is a brand new restaurant, bar, and grassroots event venue.
Spread over two floors, The Cloak and Dagger prides itself on offering a range of events. From live music and comedy to life drawing and drag performances, we are certain that there is something for everyone. With quirky decor throughout, it is the perfect venue for private events. We are happy to host everything from birthday parties to social club celebrations to weddings!
Whether you fancy a Sunday roast, a selection of delicious small plates, a burger, some teapot cocktails, or an ice cold beer, The Cloak and Dagger is your new foodie destination of choice.
On top of that, from the 15th April, we will be opening our brand-new secret courtyard to the public and offering a range of drinks, including cocktails, on our new takeaway menu!
Events
Whether you’re in the mood for a crafty afternoon or a big night out we have you covered. Our events schedule is as eclectic as our decor with regular nights such as open mic night and life drawing, to specialist all-dayers and workshops. The Venue
The Cloak and Dagger is certainly the most eclectic venue on Gloucester Road - and that’s really saying something!
Split over two floors, we have several distinct spaces that are available for hire.
Location
Known locally as Bristol’s Indie Shopping District, Gloucester Road and Stokes Croft are the destinations for anyone seeking to discover the more independent businesses Bristol has to offer.

The Parlour
With custom murals and strikingly colourful interior decor,
The Parlour is the perfect bright and open space to host small gatherings or, for the more creative among you, workshops such as life drawing. Available for hire, it is also our main restaurant area!

The Carousel
Our main performance space, The Carousel embodies the gothic. A highly versatile space – we are able to modify The Carousel to suit everything from live music or intimate gig to comedy nights or cabaret style shows.

The Courtyard
Our brand-new Courtyard was a labour of love and we are so happy with how it has turned out! A covered seating area means that you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail or delicious meal outside whatever the weather. Once our events start again, The courtyard wont be available Thursday, Friday or Saturday evenings.

#hereForCulture

Culture creates jobs, supports livelihoods, and brings joy to everyone. The UK leads the world in the creative industries and we can all feel pride in that.
Now, in these challenging times, it’s our turn to show our support for culture. With an unprecedented investment through the Culture Recovery Fund, the government is #HereForCulture so it can weather the storm of coronavirus and come back stronger.
And we are #HereForCulture too.
#HereForCulture is a movement that unites the public, government and cultural organisations in support of our fantastic cinemas, theatres, music venues, museums, galleries and heritage.
With more and more culture being curated online, there is no better time to support and enjoy all the new and exciting ways culture is available to us.
By being #HereForCulture, we aren’t just supporting the people in the industry, we’re also supporting communities across the country.
Here for Culture is a movement that unites the public, government and cultural organisations in support of our fantastic cinemas, theatres, music venues, museums, galleries and heritage.
Whether on the global stage or quietly in our own lives, culture inspires, uplifts, comforts and entertains us. Now, in these challenging times, it’s our turn to provide a lifeline and show our support. The government is #HereForCulture with an unprecedented amount of funding coming through on top of the furlough scheme, bounce-back loans and emergency grants. The public has been #HereForCulture as organisations have innovated online and outdoors.
Join us to show your support – whether it’s announcing or welcoming funding or promoting online or COVID-secure ways to experience and enjoy culture.
